Bear in mind: The purpose of the effects is to create a forest-like atmosphere to the beginning of the song. The players start doing the effects in three parts on cue from the conductor. The conducting could start in tempo on the pickup measure 14. The idea is that players don’t play at the same tempo, because then they can make a better soundscape under clarinet solo (brass: like the gentle summer breeze and woodwinds like the rain on the roof of the cottage). The clarinet soloist could first listen to the soundscape for a while and then start playing peacefully and listening to the solo.
